The Girl Is Not My Girlfriend- Super Eagle Player Onazi

Ogenyi Onazi has quelled the latest idle talk about his future at Italian club SS Lazio.

The midfielder’s ‘girlfriend’ was apparently quoted discussing his future at the Rome club.

The former El Kanemi Warriors and My People FC midfielder has venomously clarified the news he claimed was a misinformation, stating critically that he doesn’t ‘have any girlfriend in Rome.’

On Saturday, Onazi took to his Twitter account (@OnaziOgenyi) to dissociate himself from the said quote.

 

“It just came to my notice that a new publication quoted someone who was referred to as my girlfriend, talking about my future at SS Lazio.

“I hereby state as follows: 1. The said girl is NOT my girlfriend. As a matter if fact, I DO NOT have ANY girlfriend in Rome.

“With respect to my future, I insist that I am a player of SS Lazio. I do not know what my future holds. My future belongs to God.

“Thank you and God bless,” Onazi said.

After earning promotion to Lazio’s first team in the 2011/12 season, the 20-year-old midfielder scored his first Serie A goal in a 3-1 win over Inter Milan last season. He has featured 11 times for the senior national team and his goal in a 3-1 friendly victory over Venezuela on his second international match is his only goal.
