Nollywood Actor Jide Kosoko narrowly missed death on Wednesday when he survived a ghastly accident around Ikeja Shopping Mall; according to sources.
He was driving himself when his car lost control due to brake failure.
The car was a write-off, but the leader of the Yoruba movie sector escaped death narrowly.
He was immediately given some medical attentionby the Emergency unit of 7-Up with the kind support of LASTMA officials. Efforts to reach the thespian proved abortive but the story has been confirmed by Dailypost.

Actor Emeka Ike Evicted From Rented Duplex Over Failure To Pay N8.5 million Rent

Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike who has been thrown out of his rented apartment in Magodo GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, over his inability to pay an accumulated three year rent of N8.5 million.
The apartment, a twin duplex located at 1, Raji Oladimeji Street, Magodo GRA, was until his ejection, used by Emeka to run his business.
Emeka had in 2007 diversified by establishing a secondary school named St Nicholas College and decided to hire the premises on a five-year lease agreement from an 87-year-old retiree, Chief Samuel Agboola Akintan at the rate of N2 million per annum for the first two years and N3 million annually for the remaining three years, bringing the total rent of five years to N13 million. Saturday Sun gathered that Emeka was able to get his landlord accept a deposit of N2 million with a promise to pay the rest later. Trouble, however, started when a year after moving in, the popular actor began to default and at a point issued a dud cheque of N1.5 million.

Pasuma ‘Weds’ Popular Yoruba Actress

Popular Fuji musician Wasiu Alabi Odetola popularly known as Pasuma got married to Nollywood actress, Jaiye kuti.

Pasuma who seem to have other talents aside singing featured in a new Yoruba movie titled ‘Jaiyeola Ni Mo N Je’ produced by actress Jaiye Kuti.
The Fuji star in the movie played actress, Jaiye Kuti’s lover and they ended up getting married.
The movie also featured stars like Adebayo Salami, Yinka Quadri, Henrietta Kosoko, Faithia Balogun, Femi Adebayo, Ojo Arowosafe and Yomi Gold and according to the producer the movie was shot in Ikorodu area of Lagos and it cost N1.2m.
Meanwhile Pasuma is said to be dating popular actress, Ronke Odusanya, a.k.a Flakky Ididowo and are set to get married.

Nollywood Actress Dies During Childbirth With Twin-Baby

Nollywood actress, Ijeoma Okori. Until her sudden death, she was member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Rivers State chapter.
Information confirmed to this magazine has it that Ijeoma died during child delivery.
We were further informed that the woman died alongside her twin baby.
There have been series of death in the film industry in Nigeria since the beginning of 2014. Some days ago, veteran actor, Francis Daramola, well known as ‘Egbeji Oloogun Ika’ passed on. On Thursday, a popular comic Hausa actor, Shehu ‘Golobo’ Jubril died in Zamfara State.

Update On Séx For Roles Scandal In Nollywood

The complaints by Nigerians about the negative trend of asking for séx from young ladies before they get roles in Nollywood movies is not really a problem, according to Ugezu Ugezu, a movie director. In fact, he said “the situation is a positive development for the industry.”
Ugezu, who is also a writer and actor, was spotted in Tinapa, Calabar, during the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF). Below is what he told a reporter about the increase in séx for roles scandal:
“Since those who need roles in films see nothing wrong in going for it that way,

I also see nothing wrong in it. Artistes are different in the way they approach things to get what they want.”
I just wonder what Mr Ugezu will be teaching the young ladies working under him

Nolywood actor/producer, Desmond Elliot is in the middle of a serious controversy.

TRAGIC: Nollywood Actor Crushed By Car On Movie Set

An upcoming Nollywood actor recently escaped death on a movie location.
According to reports, the actor whose name is yet to be confirmed was involved in the accident while shooting a kidnapping scene of a movie being directed Onyeka Ikechukwu.
It was learnt that while on the floor acting out his role, another new actor had jumped into a waiting vehicle and while trying to escape from assailants, accidentally ran over his colleague.
The incident occurred few days after the director of the said movie, Ikechukwu escaped death when a gunshot mistakenly went off and narrowly missed him during an equipment check, Movie Moments had reported.


This action was said to have caused pandemonium and disturbed shooting proceedings as the actor was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he’s currently recuperating.
Also, shooting has been postponed till further notice.
