Adesiyan’s screening on February 13, 2014 by the Senate suffered a major setback when he was asked to say what the upper chamber should know about him that was not stated in his CV. He suddenly burst into tears, saying he did not kill Ige but that position was faulted by senators from his state, who alleged that he had not yet been cleared of complicity in the death of the late Attorney General.
The ministerial nominee maintained his innocence swearing that he had no reason to kill Chief Ige, who he said loved him so much.
The former Justice Minister was killed in his Ibadan, Oyo State capital home by suspected assassins on December 23, 2001.
The late Ige’s son, Muyiwa, however, posed some questions for Adesiyan
